Divertimento #27: Altamira Drawings

Earth tone colors of Altamira drawings inspired this Divertimento.

27R altamira

Altamira was described by Henri Moore as source of inspiration for the great artists like  Miró, Tapies, Millares, Merz and Barceló, who were involved with The Altamira School. Great prehistoric drawings continue to be an inspiration to artists till these days.

Cave of Altamira and Palaeolithic Cave Art of Northern Spain are on the World Heritage List. Wonderful place to visit.

Divertimento #14: Merzouga

Another painting inspired by Moroccan desert town of Merzouga

14_Divertimento_FRAMED_R    Sahara_ camel

As I already mentioned, Merzouga was our resting place before we got on the camels and rode into the Sahara Desert. We formed very small 3 person 2 camels caravan and headed for overnight stay in a nomad camp. It was so exotic and romantic. Great adventure!

The painting is called  Junkanoo, which is a street parade with music, dance and colorful costumes on the New Year’s Day. It was a great fun, food and fantastic frozen drinks made out of fresh flavorful fruit and local liquors.
